Is SongTakes free to use?

Yes. The Free plan includes your biolink.band page and tools to start building your music presence. The Free plan has no expiry. Paid plans add features for your website, promotion, and day-to-day management.

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. You can create your account without entering payment details. This also applies to the one-year Pro Indie extended trial offered during our signup promotion. Check the pricing page for the offer deadline and details.

What happens when my trial ends?

Your Free plan remains available, while access to paid features depends on your plan. The setup information you entered during your Starter or Pro Indie trial is retained, so you can upgrade later without rebuilding everything.

Is SongTakes only for bands?

No. SongTakes is built for solo artists, bands, producers, and the people helping manage their careers. You can use it for your own music or choose a Management plan for a roster of acts.

How does Management pricing work?

Management starts at $40 USD per month for up to five acts, with additional acts at $5 USD each per month. An act means one artist or band—not each individual band member.

What if I manage a larger roster?

Enterprise accounts are available for larger management teams and rosters. Email help@songtakes.com to arrange a meeting and discuss what you need.

Can SongTakes be my main artist website?

Yes. Your website can bring together your music, bio, photos, shows, streaming links, and mailing list signup. It gives fans and industry contacts one place to explore your work.

How is a link-in-bio page different from a website?

Your bio page is a compact destination for people arriving from social media. Your website gives visitors more room to explore your music and story. Both use artist content managed within SongTakes.

Can I use my own domain name?

Yes. Custom domains are included with Pro Indie. You can connect your own web address to your SongTakes website. Check the pricing page for domain support across the available plans.

Do I have to enter my content again for every page?

SongTakes keeps your music, photos, and artist information together so you can reuse them across your website, bio page, and EPKs. You choose what to feature in each place.

Can people find my artist website through search engines?

Your published website provides public pages that search engines can discover. Clear artist information and useful page content help people understand your site, but appearing in search results or reaching a particular ranking is not guaranteed.

Can I link to streaming platforms and social media?

Yes. Connect visitors to your music on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and other supported destinations, alongside your social profiles. SongTakes works alongside the platforms you already use.

What is an EPK?

An electronic press kit introduces your music to professional contacts. It brings essentials such as your bio, featured songs, photos, press highlights, and contact information together on one page.

Can I create different EPKs for different opportunities?

Yes. Create tailored EPKs for different audiences. You might highlight your latest release for media contacts and focus on your live performance material when approaching venues.

Will an EPK help me get booked or featured?

An organized EPK makes your material easier to review and share. It helps you present yourself clearly, though bookings and coverage still depend on the opportunity and the people making those decisions.

What if I do not have press coverage or professional photos yet?

Start with a clear bio, your music, a few useful photos, and a way to contact you. Add press highlights and stronger assets as you collect them. Your EPK can grow with your career.

Pitching & Email Campaigns

Does SongTakes send pitches to curators or outlets?

No. SongTakes helps you prepare and manage pitches that you send through email or other platforms. Keep records of your outreach, costs, and outcomes to build your own pitching history.

What is pitching intelligence?

It is the picture you build from your recorded results. Compare outlets, submission sources, costs, and acceptance rates, with pitches linked to songs so you can see what has worked for your music.

Can SongTakes help me write a pitch?

Yes. Start from a song, add a few short details, and use AI to generate a draft. Review and edit the text, then copy it into your email or submission form when you are ready.

How do I collect fan email addresses?

Signup forms on your SongTakes website and bio page feed into your mailing list. Email validation helps keep the list clean, and unsubscribe handling is built into the campaign tools.

What can I include in an email campaign?

The builder lets you add songs, albums, and shows from your SongTakes content, including their images and links. You can put together an update without rebuilding that material in a separate email tool.

Do campaigns include email analytics?

Not yet. Campaigns currently focus on building and sending updates, rather than reporting opens and clicks. Sending rules, including delays between campaigns, help support responsible sending.

Projects, Contacts & Analytics

Keep the work behind your music organized with the management tools. Plan projects, manage relationships, and understand activity across your artist pages.

What can I use project management for?

Plan releases, shows, and other work using tasks, deadlines, milestones, and project templates. The project tools help you see what needs doing and who is responsible.

What does the contact CRM do?

Keep people and companies organized, with activity histories and notes you can add yourself. Contact management helps you keep track of relationships with venues, media, collaborators, and other industry contacts.

Where do EPK contact form submissions go?

They arrive in your inquiries inbox. Star messages, use the spam folder, and filter by artist, source, or status. You can also convert an inquiry into a CRM contact.

What does SongTakes analytics measure?

Built-in analytics track activity across your website, bio page, and EPKs, including sample plays and clicks to streaming and social platforms. A streaming-link click shows someone followed the link, not that they played the full song on that service.

Can I track campaigns with UTM links?

Yes. SongTakes analytics recognizes UTM campaign parameters so you can organize traffic by source, medium, and campaign. Use tagged links when sharing your pages to help distinguish your promotional activity.

Can I use Google Tag Manager or Meta Pixel?

Yes. Your website supports Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel as optional integrations. SongTakes’ built-in analytics works automatically; those external tools require their own configuration.

Song Feedback & the Review Network

What is the Artist Review Network?

The ARN is an optional community where musicians share songs and provide structured feedback to one another. Reviews come from fellow artists and creators with different tastes and experience.

Do I have to join the community?

No. You can use SongTakes without joining the ARN. You can also create song feedback pages to share with your own listeners and contacts outside the community.

What does a structured review cover?

Reviews consider intro, creativity, melody, lyrics, vocals, arrangement, performance, and production. Category scores and written feedback help explain what a listener noticed about the song.

Where can I see my song feedback?

Each song has a feedback dashboard with review summaries and results. You can also create separate feedback pages when you want to collect responses from different sources.

What is the Songaru reaction engine?

Songaru captures immediate reactions to a song preview. Listeners can skip, like, or love after a few seconds of playback. Previews last up to 20 seconds, and average listening time is tracked for each song. The engine also appears on band website song pages and within the ARN.

What if I disagree with the feedback?

Feedback offers perspective, not a final verdict. Look for useful observations and recurring themes, then decide what fits your creative goals. Neither review scores nor quick reactions determine a song’s value or predict its success.

Is SongTakes a streaming service or distributor?

No. SongTakes helps you present, promote, and manage your music. Song previews and streaming links give visitors a way to discover your work and continue listening on the services you use.

Do I keep ownership of my music?

Yes. You retain ownership of your music and uploaded content. Hosting or displaying it through SongTakes does not transfer that ownership. See the Terms for the permissions needed to operate the service.

Can I use SongTakes alongside other tools?

Yes. You can keep using your streaming services, social channels, and external pitching platforms. Choose the SongTakes tools that fit your workflow and connect visitors to your other destinations.

Can I move an existing mailing list into or out of SongTakes?

Contact help@songtakes.com to confirm the available import and export options before planning a move. Include which service you are moving from or to and what you need to transfer.

Are AI-generated artist projects allowed?

AI-driven artist projects must be clearly identified and must not mislead listeners about who or what they are engaging with. That context also helps reviewers give relevant feedback.
