Musicians Helping Musicians.

A community built around listening, sharing useful feedback, and giving each other room to grow.

You Don’t Have to Create in Isolation.

When you have heard your own song a hundred times, a fresh perspective can help. The Artist Review Network connects musicians through listening and constructive feedback, giving you a place to share your work and discover what others are creating.

Join when you want to take part, and bring the same care to another artist’s music that you would want for your own. Participation is optional—you can use SongTakes without joining the review community.

Give Feedback Some Direction.

The review format guides listeners through your song’s intro, creativity, melody, lyrics, vocals, arrangement, performance, and production. Category scores and written feedback give reviewers specific things to consider.

That structure helps make a review easier to give and more useful to read. You can see which parts connected with someone and where they had suggestions, while keeping your own creative goals at the center of any changes.

See What Listeners Keep Noticing.

Your song’s feedback dashboard brings review scores and category summaries together. Look across the responses to see where listeners agree, where opinions differ, and which qualities consistently stand out.

Use those observations to decide what deserves another listen. A recurring comment might point to an arrangement worth revisiting or a strength worth keeping. The insights offer perspective; you decide what serves the song.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Artist Review Network?

The ARN is SongTakes’ optional music review community. Artists can share their songs, listen to other musicians, and provide structured feedback focused on the music and the choices behind it.

Do I have to join the ARN to use SongTakes?

No. Joining the review community is entirely optional. You can use your website, bio link, EPK, and other SongTakes tools without participating in the ARN.

Who reviews my music?

Reviews come from fellow musicians and creators participating in the community. They bring different tastes and experience, so treat their feedback as individual perspectives rather than a professional assessment or a final verdict.

What makes the reviews structured?

Reviewers consider specific categories: intro, creativity, melody, lyrics, vocals, arrangement, performance, and production. This gives the feedback a consistent format and helps you understand which aspects of a song influenced someone’s review.

Do I need to review other artists?

Reviewing other songs is encouraged, but it is not mandatory. Taking time to explain what you hear helps another artist and gives you practice thinking about songwriting, arrangement, and production.

Where can I see my review results?

Each song has a feedback dashboard where you can explore review results and category summaries. Learn more about organizing and understanding them on the song feedback management page.

Can I collect feedback outside the community?

Yes. SongTakes also supports song feedback pages you can share with your own listeners, collaborators, or contacts. Those let you gather feedback from other sources without joining the ARN.

What if I disagree with a review?

You do not have to act on every suggestion. Consider the reviewer’s perspective, look for recurring observations, and decide what fits your intentions. Feedback should inform your creative decisions, not make them for you.
